The selected candidate for this position will be expected to start work promptly. The available positions are for Seasonal employment or Full time job. Job Description

  • The candidate must plan the incorporation of landscape structures.
  • The candidate must manage landscaping projects.
  • The candidate will be responsible for watering and maintaining plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • The candidate must apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products.
  • The candidate must apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions.
  • The candidate must plan and coordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental purposes, and other purposes.
  • The candidate must plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens.
  • The candidate must plant and move trees.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate must be punctual.

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

  • The candidate must work in a residential setting, a lawn care company, and a construction company.
  • The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
  • The candidate should work as a landscape contractor to create and construct large and small projects for residential and commercial properties.
  • Workplace provides gardening, horticulture, and/or excavation activities.

Experience and specialization

Type of heavy equipment operated

  • Heavy equipment used includes backhoe excavators and loaders.

Landscaping experience

  • The ideal candidate should have experience in landscaping residential projects, as well as commercial/industrial construction.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have previous experience using a skid steer.

Area of work experience

  • The candidate must have experience in removing snow.

Construction specialization

  • The candidate must be skilled in the construction of automated irrigation systems, fieldstone paths, interlocking brick, ornamental ponds, fountains, and waterfalls, poured concrete, retaining walls, rock gardens, stone garden walls, and irrigation and drainage systems.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about landscape construction and plant identification.

  • The candidate’s driving record should be thoroughly checked (abstract).

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
