Job Description
- The candidate must assist with landscape construction.
- The candidate must cut the grass.
- The candidate must cart and spread topsoil and other materials.
- The candidate must lay sod or seed.
- The candidate must plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and bulbs.
- The candidate must apply fertilizers.
- The candidate must water and care for plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
- The candidate must operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment.
- The candidate must plant and move trees.
- The candidate must plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- A candidate with experience is an asset.
Work site environment
- The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
- The candidate must work in all weather conditions.
Work setting
- The candidate should work in a rural area, where most people live or work on farms or ranches. Rural areas include hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements.
- The candidate should work as a landscape contractor, creating and constructing large and small projects for residential and commercial properties.
- The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
- The candidate must work for a lawn care company, construction company, private company, corporation or industry.
Experience and specialization
Equipment and machinery experience
- The candidate must have experience operating pick-up trucks, small engine equipment, tractor mowers and weed trimmers/edgers.
Additional information
Security and safety
- The candidate should undergo a thorough driver’s licence validity check, driving record check (abstract) and drug test.
Transportation/travel information
- The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
- There is no access to public transportation.
