Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to assist survey engineers or professional surveyors in designing methodologies and processes for conducting field surveys.
  • The candidate will be required to conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distance, angles, elevations, and contours.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare detailed drawings, charts, and plans, as well as survey notes and reports.
  • The candidate will be required to record measurements and other information obtained during field survey activities.
  • The candidate will be required to determine precise geographic locations using global positioning system (GPS) equipment.
  • The candidate will be required to analyse latitude, longitude, and angles, as well as perform trigonometric and other calculations to plot features, contours, and areas to a specific scale.

Land Survey Technician Specific Skills

  • The candidate will be required to participate in field surveys and operate survey instruments and devices.
  • The candidate must keep records, measurements, and other survey information in a systematic order.
  • The candidate will be expected to help with the creation of detailed drawings, charts, and plans.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in the calculation, analysis, and computation of measurements collected during field surveys.

Work Site Environment

  • The candidate should be willing to work in an outdoor environment including hot, cold or wet weather conditions.

Transportation/Travel Information

  • The candidate should have valid driver’s licence.
