Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for calving.
  • The candidate must monitor animal health.
  • The candidate must pick stones and/or wood.
  • The candidate will be responsible for fertilising and spraying crops.
  • The candidate must harvest crops.
  • The candidate will be responsible for feeding and tending animals.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate must clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens.
  • The candidate must detect disease and health issues in crops, livestock, and poultry.
  • The candidate will be responsible for installing and monitoring water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.

Work site environment

  • Farm operations include beef cattle ranching and farming, (including feedlots), corn farming, hay farming, livestock combination farming, other grain farming, soybean farming, and wheat farming.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work at heights.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty and hot conditions.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

  • The candidate must be willing to work in a rural area.

Experience and specialization

Instrument experience

  • The candidate must be familiar with mechanical instruments.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience operating various farm equipment, including seed drills, sprayers or dusters, tractors, combine harvesters, farm trucks, forage equipment, haying equipment, loaders, manure spreaders, planting equipment, swather, and tillage equipment.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about cattle breeding.
