Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for administering medications.
- The candidate must apply aseptic techniques, such as sterile dressing.
- The candidate will be responsible for collecting specimens.
- The candidate will be responsible for ensuring infection control.
- The candidate will be responsible for monitoring nutritional intake.
- The candidate must observe and record the therapeutic and side effects of medications.
- The candidate must record medication’s therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files.
- The candidate must take vital signs.
- The candidate will be responsible for cleaning and sterilizing the operating room and instruments.
- The candidate must provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care.
- The candidate will be responsible for monitoring established respiratory and intravenous therapy.
- The candidate must provide safety and health education to individuals and their families.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing nursing services to patients within a defined scope of practise based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
- The candidate must monitor patients’ progress, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must be eligible for practical nurse licensure in their province/territory of work, have completed the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination, and have CPR and First Aid Certificates.
- The candidate should be accurate.
