Job Description
- The candidate must train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.
- The candidate will be expected to keep track of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
- The candidate must create new recipes.
- The candidate must analyse operating costs and other data.
- The candidate must prepare dishes for customers who have food allergies or intolerances.
- The candidate will be expected to plan menus and ensure food quality standards are met.
- The candidate must estimate food requirements as well as food and labour costs.
- The candidate must demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff.
- The candidate will be expected to train cooks in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation.
- The candidate will be responsible for supervising cooks and other kitchen personnel.
- The candidate must requisition food and kitchen supplies.
- The candidate must prepare and cook food on a regular basis, as well as for special guests or functions.
- The candidate must prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must be able to supervise 5 to 10 people.
- The candidate will be expected to supervise employees in a variety of areas of responsibility.
- The candidate must have a Food Safety Certificate, a Safe Food Handling Certificate, and a Cook Red Seal Certificate.
- The candidate should have excellent oral communication skills.
- The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
- The candidate should be a good team player.
- The candidate should be dependable.
- The candidate should be reliable.
