Job Description

  • The candidate will need to prepare estimates of labor and/or material costs.
  • The candidate must read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
  • The candidate must prepare layouts in accordance with building codes, using measuring tools.
  • The candidate must be able to measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • The candidate must prepare tenders and quotations.
  • The candidate must build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • The candidate must fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • The candidate will be responsible for surveying the building’s locations and levels.
  • The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and renovating residential and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must have Carpenter Trade Certification and a Carpenter Red Seal Certificate.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate must be punctual.

  • The candidate must work in the construction industry.
  • The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
  • The employee should be involved in the renovation of broken, damaged, or outdated structures.
  • The candidate should be willing to relocate whether the candidate would be ready to move into a new city/different city for a job.
