Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for erecting and installing scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms.
- The candidate must perform job-site calculations.
- The candidate will be responsible for signaling crane operators to position units in accordance with blueprint specifications.
- The candidate will be responsible for aligning, welding, or bolting units into place.
- The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
- The candidate will be responsible for dismantling metal, pre-cast concrete, and laminated timber buildings and other structures.
- The candidate must inspect or test structures and equipment for deterioration, defects, or failure to comply with specifications or regulations.
- The candidate will be responsible for positioning and securing steel bars or metal mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures.
- The candidate will be responsible for unloading and positioning steel units so that each can be hoisted as needed.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must have Ironworker Trade Certification, Ironworker Red Seal Certificate, and completed CADD Course.
- The candidate should be dependable.

Work site environment
- The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

- The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
- The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp conditions.
Work setting
- The candidate will be expected to work in the fabrication, new construction (pre-engineered), and new construction (not pre-engineered) sectors.
Experience and specialization
Welding techniques
- The welding techniques are Oxy-acetylene, ARC, Gas metal ARC (GMAW) (MIG) and Gas tungsten ARC (GTAW) (TIG).
Cranes (assemble, erect, jump, dismantle)
- The candidate must be familiar with operating tower cranes and conventional hydraulic cranes.
Area of specialization
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about erecting structural steel.
- The ideal candidate must be familiar with installing reinforcing steel, pre and post-tensioned cables, and curtain and window wall finishes.
- The candidate must be skilled in assembling and erecting metal buildings.
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about the fabrication and repair of ornamental iron and nonferrous components.
- The candidate must be skilled in installing structural and architectural pre-cast concrete components, as well as erecting structural wood materials for churches, schools, pedestrian bridges and other structures.
