Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to maintain and restore the crafts assigned by Parks Canada.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a dedicated Certification at a journeyman carpenter provincial level.
- Candidates must have acceptable training and experience in the carpentry trade.
- They must attain dedicated knowledge of current methods and practices relevant to the trade.
- Candidates must attain knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
- They must attain dedicated knowledge of the provisions of the National Building Code as it relates to the carpentry trade.
- Candidates must ensure their willingness to take training and update licenses and certificates as requested by the employer.
- Candidates must attain a valid class 5 Nova Scotia Driver’s license, or other provincial equivalency.
Work setting
- Candidates must be able to travel and work from other locations in the Cape Breton Field Unit for short periods.
