Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
  • The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of the repair required.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ordering parts and maintaining inventory.
  • The candidate must adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
  • The candidate must keep maintenance reports and documentation.
  • The candidate must test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturer’s specifications.
  • The candidate must clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance tasks.
  • The candidate will be responsible for servicing attachments and working tools.
  • The candidate must perform other routine maintenance.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.

Credentials

Apprenticeship training

  • The candidate must have completed apprenticeship training, including level two, level three, level four, and level five apprenticeship training.

Experience and specialization

Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization

  • The candidate will be required to be skilled in the maintenance and repair of drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, differentials, and brake systems.

Additional information

Security and safety

  • The candidate should undergo a thorough criminal record check, driver’s licence validity check, and driving record check (abstract).

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

  • The candidate should be prepared to perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
