Marnevic Construction Ltd. based in Fox Creek, AB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Heavy-duty equipment technician who are self-motivated and have good interpersonal skills. Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
  • The candidate will be required to diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerised and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • The candidate must adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
  • The candidate must keep maintenance reports and documentation.
  • The candidate will be expected to test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets the specifications of the manufacturer.
  • The candidate must clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance tasks.
  • The candidate will be expected to perform heavy truck repair work.
  • The candidate must verify and repair emission control systems.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must have Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate must be flexible.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • The work environment is smoke-free.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Experience and specialization

Diesel engine repair specialization

  • The candidate must be skilled in the repair of fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, engine control systems, major internal engine repairs or overhaul, and engine and machinery installation and alignment.

Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization

  • The candidate must be skilled in the maintenance and repair of mechanical transmissions, drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering, highway vehicle tires and wheels, off-road vehicle tires and wheels, differentials and brake system.
