Job Description

  • Candidates who applied for this post are required to supervise, train and review the work of junior staff, including assisting with scheduling and ensuring work is included in a safe, efficient, and timely manner working at this post.
  • They’re also accountable for completing three risk assessments working at this post.
  • They’re accountable for responding to inquiries from City residents related to public trees working at this post.

Job requirement

  • Candidates must have completion of Grade 12, supplemented by the successful completion of five additional relevant courses from an approved post-secondary institution.
  • They must have completed post-secondary institution, plus 18 months of recent experience in landscape maintenance and landscape construction to be eligible for this post.
  • People must have completion of a diploma program from an approved post-secondary institution.
  • They must have a minimum of 6 months of recent experience in landscape maintenance and landscape construction to be preferred for this post.
  • They must obtain Arborist Certification through the International Society of Arboriculture before completion of the probation period.
  • Candidates must be able to complete heavy manual labour in all weather conditions to be preferred for this post.

Work setting

  • They must have a valid BC Driver’s License with a safe driving record to be eligible for this post.
  • They must have to obtain a Pesticide Applicator’s License before completion of the probation period to get preferred for this post.
