Job Description

  • The candidate will be expected to oversee the work of other graphic designers or graphic arts technicians.
  • The candidate must estimate the costs of materials and the time required to complete graphic designs and illustrations.
  • The candidate will be required to modify existing illustrations.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in the creation of storyboards for electronic productions.
  • The candidate will be required to consult with clients in order to determine the nature and content of illustrations to meet their communication needs.
  • The candidate will be expected to create realistic or representational sketches as well as final illustrations.
  • The candidate must create 2-D and 3-D animated drawings or computer illustrations.
  • The candidate will be expected to coordinate all aspects of print, audio-visual, or electronic production.
  • The candidate will be responsible for coordinating subcontracting.
  • The candidate must consult with clients to determine the overall look, graphic elements, and content of communications materials.
  • The candidate must determine the best medium for producing the desired visual effect as well as the most appropriate vehicle for communication.
  • The candidate will be expected to create graphic elements that meet the objectives of the clients.
  • The candidate must create guidelines for illustrators or photographers.
  • The candidate must prepare sketches, layouts, and graphic elements.
  • The candidate must use existing photo and illustration banks, as well as typography guides.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a programme lasting 3 months to less than 1 year, or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to supervise 1 to 2 people, 3 to 4 people, and 5 to 10 people.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
