Job Description

  • The candidate will be in charge of packaging, cleaning, and other essential food processing activities.
  • The candidate will be required to manually pack goods into bags, boxes, or other containers.
  • The candidate must inspect products and packaging for basic quality defects.
  • The candidate must load product onto the packaging line for processing.
  • The candidate will be expected to clean machines and surrounding work areas.
  • The candidate must adhere to all GMP and food safety principles.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist process control and machine operators in carrying out their responsibilities.
  • The candidate must measure and dump ingredients into the hoppers of mixing and grinding machines.
  • The candidate will be required to respond to any type of alarms or equipment malfunctions and to operate the shut-off switch when necessary.
  • The candidate will be expected to load raw ingredients into the cooking machine and measure the amount required while adhering to company recipes and industry standards.
  • At the end of each shift, the candidate will be required to sanitise all materials and machinery parts and clean the workspace at the worker station in accordance with company cleanliness standards.
  • The candidate will be expected to understand written instructions and recipes from the company when putting together ingredients and starting a new batch of products.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep an eye on food-cooking machines and make adjustments to the controls for boilers, ovens, fryers, and cookers.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep track of stock levels and communicate with purchasers.
  • The candidate will be expected to monitor and maintain safety standards, paying special attention to machinery and electrical equipment.
  • The candidate must maintain a high level of personal and workplace hygiene.
  • The candidate will be required to check instruments such as temperature gauges, at regular intervals
  • If necessary, the candidate will be required to adjust the speed of the conveyor belt.
  • The candidate would be responsible for providing customer service
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that ingredients are properly tagged, date-labeled, covered, stored, and rotated.
  • The candidate will be in charge of monitoring food levels and refilling supplies in a timely manner.
  • The candidate must have food safety or handling skills.

Semi-Skilled

  • The candidate is in charge of operating single-function machines to process and package meat products, as well as performing equipment set-up and material handling.
  • Prior to operation, the candidate will be required to set up and adjust single-function processing and packaging machines.
  • The candidate must set up labels in retail labellers and end scales.
  • The candidate must be able to operate single-function machines used to process or package food products.
  • The candidate will be responsible for inspecting products for defects, ensuring conformance to company standards, and performing corrective machine adjustments as needed.
  • The candidate must complete all associated documents.
  • The candidate will be responsible for training new employees.
  • The candidate must understand and adhere to basic food safety principles.

Skilled

  • The candidate will be in charge of operating multi-function process control or single-function machines used to process and package meat products.
  • The candidate will be responsible for line setup approvals and verification.
  • The candidate must complete all required documentation for the production run.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products are set up and packaged according to specifications.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise the training of new employees.
  • The candidate must keep a production and other data shift log.
  • The candidate will be expected to participate in continuous improvement programmes, meetings, and other activities.
  • The candidate must understand and adhere to basic food safety principles.
