Job Description

  • The candidate must be able to operate cleaning machines.
  • The candidate will be expected to clean soot and creosote from chimneys and fire places.
  • The candidate will be expected to clean furnace ducts, vents, and filters.
  • The candidate will be expected to clean the exterior of the building, as well as tanks, chimneys, and industrial equipment.
  • The candidate must vacuum floors.
  • The candidate will be expected to wax and polish floors.
  • The candidate must provide excellent customer service.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have completed Working at Heights training and hold a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, a Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, a First Aid Certificate, and a Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Work site environment

  • The candidate must be able to work at heights.
  • The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp, dusty, hot, and cold/refrigerated conditions.
  • The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
  • The candidate must be willing to work in hazardous conditions.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate’s relocation expenses will be covered by the employer.
  • The candidate must be willing to relocate to the specified location.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with carpet cleaning machines, chemical cleaning equipment, hydroblasters, industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers, polishing machines, power tools, pressure cleaners, pressure washers, sandblasters, steam cleaners, and waxing machines.

Cleaning experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience cleaning chimneys, industrial equipment, ventilation systems/ducts, boilers/tanks, and furnaces.

Additional Information

Security and safety

  • The candidate should be subjected to a thorough Driver’s Licence Validity Check, Driving Record Check (abstract), Criminal Record Check, and Drug Test.

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have their own transportation.
  • The candidate must have their own vehicle.
  • The employer will provide the candidate with a vehicle.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel frequently.
  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
