Job Description
- Candidates who applied for this post are required to work with computer database software, interpret and work with scientific models, and produce summaries, graphs, and tables to communicate methods and results working at this post.
- People applying for this post are also required to present methods and scientific findings in written reports, manuscripts and presentations working at this post.
- People who applied for this post are also accountable for assisting the Research Scientist in planning, designing, organizing and implementing research projects working at this post.
Job requirement
- People applying for this post must have a valid class ‘G’ driver’s licence or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario, to be eligible for this post.
- They must have dedicated knowledge of forest ecology, biology, molecular plant pathology, and genomics techniques.
- Candidates interested in this post must have demonstrated the ability to identify, collect, and process samples or biological data pertaining to forest health or ecology.
- Applicants who applied for this post must attain the ability to extract RNA/DNA from different plant species, soil, water, nematodes, and insects to be considered as an asset for this post.
- They must have strong word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and database management skills to be preferred for this post.
Work setting
- They must have knowledge of experimental design and the use of statistics and computer programs in biological research to be preferred for this post.
