Job Description
- Candidates for this post are appointed to check and document food for temperature, freshness and correct diet.
- They’re appointed to refer to and utilize information on residents’ diets and food preferences.
- Candidates are also appointed to rotate food according to the first in first out (FIFO) method, and expiry dates and inform the supervisor regarding stock.
- Candidates are appointed to fill steam tables and steam, deep fries and thermalized food.
- Candidates are appointed to load carts with dishes, utensils, containers and trays necessary for service and deliver them to dining and service areas.
- They’re appointed to deliver food supplied and food to dining serving and preparation areas and units.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain the ability to read and write and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Candidates must attain the ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and residents.
- They must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations and attain the ability to operate, lift and move various equipment, supplies, and other heavy items to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain the ability to perform various cleaning duties.
Work setting
- Candidates must attain the dedicated knowledge of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Standards and the ability to ensure compliance with these standards.
