Job Description

  • The candidate must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages.
  • The candidate will be responsible for addressing customer complaints or concerns.
  • The candidate must prepare and serve specialty food at customers’ tables.
  • The candidate must present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers’ cheques, or room billings.
  • The candidate must clearly and concisely describe menu items, including daily specials, to customers.
  • The candidate will be responsible for enforcing provincial and territorial liquor laws and regulations.
  • The candidate will be responsible for advising on menu selection.
  • The candidate must balance cash and keep sales records.
  • The candidate must clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
  • The candidate must describe and advise on wine selection.
  • The candidate must greet customers, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions about food and beverages.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ordering and maintaining an inventory of wines and wine glassware.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.

  • The candidate must be able to supervise 1 to 2 people.
  • The candidate must have Smart Serve certification and ProServe program certification.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weights of up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
