LA CONDESA HCL RESTAURANT LTD. is located in Kamloops, BC. The company is currently looking for applications for the role of Food and beverage server. We are in search of a self-disciplined individual with outstanding interpersonal skills. The selected applicant will be required to join and take on their responsibilities as soon as possible. The open positions are for a Term or contract, part-time job. The timings of shifts may be Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Flexible Hours, To be determined, Early Morning and Morning.

Job Description

  • The candidate must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages.
  • The candidate will be responsible for addressing customer complaints or concerns.
  • The candidate must prepare and serve specialty food at customers’ tables.
  • The candidate must present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, traveller’s cheques, or room billings.
  • The candidate must describe menu items, including daily specials, to customers.
  • The candidate will be responsible for enforcing provincial/territorial liquor laws and regulations.
  • The candidate will be responsible for advising on menu selection.
  • The candidate must balance cash and keep sales records.
  • The candidate must clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
  • The candidate must describe and advise on wine selection.
  • The candidate must greet customers, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions about food and beverages.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ordering and maintaining an inventory of wines and wine glassware.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing sensory evaluations on wines.
  • The candidate must be able to serve food and beverages.
  • The candidate must supervise other servers and bussing staff.
  • The candidate will take orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
  • The candidate must train staff.
  • The candidate must assist clients/guests with special needs.
  • The candidate must provide excellent customer service.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate has no supervision responsibilities.
  • The candidate must be capable of supervising 1 to 2 people and 3 to 4 people.
  • The candidate must have a Food and Beverage Server Trade Certificate, Food and Beverage Server Training Certificate, Food Safety Certificate, Safe Food Handling Certificate, and Serve It Right Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
  • The candidate should be client-focused.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their initiative.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in restaurants that are generally fast-paced and require the utmost efficiency.
  • The candidate should work in a catering firm, delivering decorations, arranging banquets, setting up tables, and designing and preparing menus.
  • The candidate should work in a hotel, motel, or resort with additional sports and leisure facilities framed in a natural environment that attracts visitors beyond the room.
