Job Description
- The candidate will be expected to inspect, measure, and mark the surfaces to be covered.
- The candidate will be required to measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding.
- The candidate will be expected to prepare flooring plans and schedules.
- The candidate will be required to measure, cut, and install carpeting on floors.
- The candidate will be required to measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings.
- The candidate will be expected to inspect and repair damaged floor coverings.
- Prior to flooring installation, the candidate will be required to conduct moisture, ph, temperature, and other tests.
- The candidate will be required to estimate costs and materials.
- The candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
- The candidate will be required to prepare floors for installation.
- The candidate will be required to remove existing floor coverings and contaminants.
- The candidate will be required to stretch carpeting using knee kickers and other equipment.
- The candidate will be required to perform direct glue-down carpet installations.
- The candidate will be required to install outdoor carpets.

- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.

Experience and Specialization
Installation Specialization
- The candidate should be knowledgeable about vinyl or resilient tiles, vinyl or resilient sheets, modular carpet tiles, flexible PVC sheet goods, and carpets/rugs.

- The candidate should be bondable and easily communicate.
- The candidate should be subjected to a thorough criminal record check as well as a driver’s licence validity check.
