Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post are required to implement detailed plans and recommend procedures regarding program-specific requirements.
  • They’re also required to provide input into and administer assigned budgets, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
  • Candidates are also appointed to this post to determine the severity of the violation based on risk and potential exposure. 
  • They’re appointed at this post to make effective recommendations concerning disciplinary action.
  • They’re also required to provide interpretation of various codes and standards to management and staff.
  • Candidates are appointed at this post to prepare reports and maintain records detailing information about the property, violations observed and actions to be taken.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must have post-secondary education in fire protection engineering technology or the equivalent combination of education and considerable experience.
  • They must have dedicated working experience using AutoCAD 2D to create and edit AutoCAD drawings electronically.
  • Candidates must have dedicated experience in the installation and/or maintenance of sprinklers, fire alarms, clean agents and other fire protection systems and equipment.
  • Candidates must possess strong mechanical aptitude and be knowledgeable of the safe storage and handling practices for flammable liquids and gasses.
  • Candidates must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License Class “G” and meet the requirements necessary to receive a City Equipment Operator’s License to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must be highly developed in notetaking and the preparation of reports, correspondence and record maintenance to be eligible for this post.
