Fire Prevention inspector 

Toronto Transit Commission has released a notification on which they’re inviting candidates for the post of fire prevention inspector. They’re appointed to perform fire prevention work on various fire protection equipment used throughout the TTC including buildings, car houses, garages, vehicles, subway rapid transit lines, bus and subway divisions, and other facilities. Registration for this post has already started and it will end soon.

Job Description 

  • Candidates will have to respond to fire alarms and fire trouble calls any time during the day or night to inspect and reinstate fire protection equipment. 
  • Candidates are also appointed to work with other tradespersons to conduct annual fire alarm inspections. 
  • Candidates will have to perform stand-by duties as required on a rotational basis. 
  • Candidates will also have to assist TTC mobile forces as well as police and firefighters. 

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must require training normally obtained through the completion of Grade 12 or its recognized equivalent as defined by the Training Department’s guidelines for the assessment of the Grade 12 technical program. 
  • They must hold a Community College Certificate from the Fire Protection Systems Certificate Program. 
  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of personal computers, and related software such as Word and Excel and possess good keyboarding skills. 
  • They must have possession of a valid, non-probationary, Province of Ontario class “G” driver’s license.

  • Candidates must attain dedicated working experience to be eligible for this post.
