Job Description
- Candidates are appointed to reflect industry best practices and comply with statutory regulations to meet the expectations of the Council and provide equitable services to the citizens of Ottawa.
- They’re appointed to handle the responsibilities related to the operations of an assigned organizational area.
- Candidates are required to respond to customer inquiries, maintain customer accounts, collect arrears, perform billing and assessment functions and provide customer service in taxation, water, and accounts receivable.
- Candidates will have to provide superior customer service in handling tax water accounts and accounts receivable issues to ensure a high customer satisfaction level and a positive image of the city are maintained.
Job requirement
- Candidates must ensure the completion of a 2-year community college program in Business Administration.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of customer inquiry/problem-solving experience dealing with customers on the telephone and/or in person, including at least 1 year of finance experience.
- They must attain dedicated experience working within a municipal government environment and payment/collection experience is an asset.
Work setting
- They must attain the ability to complete complex calculations and analysis.
- Candidates must attain the ability to read, interpret, understand and explain legislation, provincial statutes, municipal by-laws and policies.
