Job Description

The candidate must design and create clothing and accessories for men, women, and children.
The candidate will be in charge of creating or visualising an idea and producing a design by hand or using computer-aided design software (CAD)
The candidate will be in charge of creating moodboards to show to clients.
The candidate will be in charge of planning and developing ranges, which are frequently based on a theme.
The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with other members of the design team, such as buyers and forecasters, to create products that meet a brief.
The candidate will be expected to work closely with the sales, buying, and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure that items meet the needs of the customer, market, and price points.
The candidate will be in charge of understanding design from a technical standpoint, which includes creating patterns and technical specifications for designs.
The candidate will be in charge of creating a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments, as well as supervising their creation, including fitting, detailing, and adaptations.
The candidate will be in charge of displaying your designs at fashion and other trade shows.
The candidate will be in charge of working with models to test your designs as well as wearing them on the catwalk at fashion shows.
The candidate will be expected to attend meetings to discuss designs and line development, as well as present and review line and concepts on a regular basis.
The candidate will be required to identify new opportunities relevant to the firm’s customer base through market research.
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development of new design and fit styles while also adhering to corporate requirements for mass production.
The candidate will be expected to cost out all of the components required for the fabrication of a garment.
The candidate will be expected to help a design team communicate with vendors about design, production, and other issues.
The candidate will be in charge of collaborating with team members to select seasonal themes, make line edits, and create new concepts.
The candidate will be in charge of ensuring that the product is in line with the business strategy.
The candidate will be in charge of choosing fabrics and trims.
The candidate will be in charge of producing sketches for development packages.
The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the technical designer to ensure the accuracy of development packages.
During the presentation, the candidate will be responsible for reviewing the product for style and fit.
The candidate will be in charge of presenting buyers with the story, mood, colour boards, and samples.
The candidate will be in charge of researching current fashion trends and determining what customers will like.
The candidate will be in charge of designing clothing patterns for mass production.
The candidate will be in charge of deciding on fabrics, colours, patterns, and textures for each design.
The candidate will be in charge of supervising the production of designs, including fittings, determining prices, and managing marketing.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining relationships with vendors, suppliers and models

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in English language.
The candidate should have minimum qualification of College or CEGEP
The ideal candidate should have a minimum 1 to 2 years of working experience in similar industry.
The candidate must be proficient in the use of software such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, as well as Microsoft Office.
The candidate must be able to generate product ideas.
The candidate must be able to turn an idea into a physical illustration, and then into a prototype upon which the finished product will be based.
The candidate must need a keen sense of style and color.
