Job Description

• The candidate will be in charge of cleaning the crop.
• The candidate will be in charge of mixing fertiliser.
• The candidate will be expected to plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.
• The candidate will be in charge of soil fertility programmes.
• The candidate will be responsible for fertilising and spraying crops.
• The candidate will be in charge of harvesting crops.
• The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must detect disease and health issues in crops, livestock, and poultry.
• The candidate will be expected to inspect the product for quality and prepare it for market.
• The candidate will be required to write basic progress reports on a daily basis.
• The candidate must clean the work area.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Work site environment

• Farm operations include dry pea and bean farming, hay farming, oilseed (except soybean) farming, other grain farming, other miscellaneous crop farming, and wheat farming.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work setting

• The candidate must be willing to work in a rural area.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

• The candidate must have prior experience with a combine harvester, farm truck, fertiliser applicator, forage equipment, haying equipment, loader, planting equipment, seed drill, sprayer or duster, swather, tillage equipment, tractor, and forklift.

Product inspection experience

• The candidate must have prior experience inspecting grains.

Automated systems experience

• The candidate must have prior experience with an automated irrigation system.

• The candidate must be bondable.
• The candidate should undergo a thorough criminal background check as well as a medical examination.

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
