Job Description

  • The candidate should be able to perform general farm duties.
  • The candidate should be responsible in managing overall operations of farm.
  • The candidate should have knowledge and capability to operate farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate will be required to carry out repair and maintenance work for farm machinery and equipment if and when required.
  • The candidate will be required to maintain quality control and production records
  • The candidate will be required to co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • The candidate will be required to develop work schedules and establish procedures
  • The candidate will be required to supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
  • The candidate will be required to supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
  • The candidate will be required to ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • The candidate will be required to ensures that deadlines are met for activities such as seeding and harvesting
  • The candidate will need to consult with managers in order to coordinate activities with other farm units.
  • The candidate will be required to organise transportation for livestock and crops
  • The candidate would be responsible for overseeing the work of farming units and suggests improvements and changes
  • The candidate would be responsible for inspecting farm buildings and equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and repairs are made when necessary
  • The candidate would be in charge of installing, maintaining, and regularly monitoring the irrigation system.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring and enforcing compliance with government regulations as well as health and safety standards.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, and other supplies are restocked on a regular basis.
  • The candidate will be in charge of marketing and selling farm products such as fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, and grain.
  • The candidate will be expected to build professional networks and stay up to date on agricultural science developments.
  • The candidate should be in charge of keeping the farm’s financial and production records.
  • The candidate would be responsible for monitoring staff rosters, hours, performance and resolving any grievances.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate should have minimum qualification of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • The ideal candidate should have a minimum 1 to 2 years of working experience in similar industry.
  • The candidate must be able to supervise 5 to 10 people.
  • The candidate should be bondable and easily communicate.
  • The candidate should be a good team player with enough interpersonal and judge-mental skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should give importance to values and ethics.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication.
  • The candidate should be punctual.
  • The candidate must be able to work long hours on farm.
  • The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • The candidate should be accountable.
  • The candidate should be authentic.

  • The candidate should have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • The candidate should have excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • The candidate must be able to make decisions in high-stress situations.

  • Extensive experience in a farming-related field is an added advantage.

Work Site Environment

  • The candidate should be willing to work in an outdoor environment for long hours, including tolerance for pests and thorns.
  • The candidate will be required to work in wet, hot and cold weather conditions.
  • The candidate should be able to work with full concentration even in noisy surroundings.
  • The candidate should have no nausea issues while working in areas with high density of odour.
