Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for performing artificial insemination, spraying or shearing livestock, and disinfecting pens, barns, or poultry houses.
- The candidate will be responsible for cutting agricultural crops.
- The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing livestock health issues.
- The candidate must be able to handle animals.
- The candidate will be responsible for monitoring the calving process.
- The candidate must monitor animal health.
- The candidate must supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly.
- The candidate will be responsible for treating livestock health issues.
- The candidate must keep financial and production records.
- The candidate must provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
- The candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
- The candidate must ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed.
- The candidate must keep livestock performance records.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining quality control and production records.
- The candidate must supervise and manage breeding and other livestock-related programs.
- The candidate will be responsible for hiring and training staff.
- The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
- The candidate must perform general farm duties.
- The candidate must supervise the operation of mechanical equipment and machinery.
- The candidate will be responsible for scheduling work assignments.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must be able to supervise 3 to 4 people.
Work site environment
- Farm operations include beef cattle ranching and farming (including feedlots), corn farming, hay farming, wheat farming, dairy farming, grain, oil, and forage crop farming, and livestock farming.
- The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
Work setting
- The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
Experience and specialization
Equipment and machinery experience
- The candidate must have experience operating automated manure handling or storage systems, harvesters, seed drills, storage and silage systems, and tractors.
Area of specialization
- The candidate must specialize in agricultural livestock services, cattle breeding, beef cattle production, and dairy cattle management.
