The Wickaninnish Inn is located at Tofino, BC. The company is currently looking for applications for the role of Executive housekeeper. We are in search of a self-disciplined individual with outstanding interpersonal skills. The selected applicant will be required to join and take their responsibilities at the earliest. The open positions are for Permanent employment or Full time job. The timings of shifts may be Evening, Weekend, Flexible Hours and Morning.

Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for establishing operational procedures.
  • The candidate must choose and purchase equipment and supplies.
  • The candidate must plan and coordinate the activities of housekeeping supervisors and crews.
  • The candidate will be responsible for coordinating the inspection of assigned areas.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising staff.
  • The candidate must ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are followed.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records.
  • The candidate will be responsible for preparing budgets and payroll.
  • The candidate must coordinate maintenance and repair services.
  • The candidate must conduct performance evaluations and appraisals.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the inventory of supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising the in-house laundry services.
  • The candidate will be responsible for coordinating the in-house laundry services.
  • The candidate will be responsible for scheduling and assigning duties to housekeeping staff.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that local health and sanitation regulations are followed.
  • The candidate will be responsible for hiring and dismissing employees.
  • The candidate will be responsible for responding to guest complaints.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to supervise 11 to 15 people.
  • The candidate must supervise staff in various areas of responsibility.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • The work environment is smoke-free.

Work setting

  • The work environment consists of 50–100 rooms.
  • The candidate must work in a resort.
  • The candidate should work in a hotel, motel, or resort with additional sports and leisure facilities framed in a natural environment that attracts visitors beyond the room.
