Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for performing body care/treatments.
  • The candidate must perform permanent hair removal.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing general information to customers about beauty products.
  • The candidate will be responsible for advising customers on beauty products suited to their specific coloring and skin type.
  • The candidate must carry out laser hair removal.
  • The candidate will be responsible for applying make-up to customers.
  • The candidate must clean, trim, and polish nails.
  • The candidate must be able to do eyebrow tinting.
  • The candidate must be able to perform facials effectively.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing therapeutic foot massages.
  • The candidate must maintain and develop their own clientele.
  • The candidate must perform cashiering duties.
  • The candidate must provide product demonstrations.
  • The candidate will be responsible for scheduling and confirming appointments.
  • The candidate will be responsible for selling the establishment’s products.
  • The candidate must be able to perform manicures and pedicures.
  • The candidate must provide skin care treatments.
  • The candidate must perform skin peels.
  • The candidate must provide waxing services.
  • The candidate will be responsible for referring clients with unusual skin conditions to physicians.
  • The candidate must thread eyebrows.
  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about eyelash extensions.
  • The candidate must provide excellent customer service.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have Esthetician certification.
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.

Work site environment

  • The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in an esthetician’s salon in spas, salons, wellness clinics, and other offices to provide skin health services.
  • The candidate should work in a beauty shop or aesthetic service performing skin care treatments and chemical procedures such as skin peels, hair removal, and waxing.
  • The candidate must work in a day spa or spa centre.

Experience and specialization

Area of work experience

  • The ideal candidate should have prior experience as a cosmetician/cosmetologist, esthetician, manicurist, pedicurist, or nail and lash applicator.
