Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to provide interpreting services for administrative and professional staff in sensitive and demanding situations applied for this post.
Job requirement
- They must attain a degree or Diploma in ASL-English Interpreting to be eligible for this post.
- People must have fluency in American Sign Language and English to be considered as an asset for this post.
- People must have the ability to interpret in a wide range of formal, informal, educational and professional settings.
- Candidates applying for this post must have prior knowledge and understand the Professional Code of Ethics of the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters.
- People must have fluency in American Sign Language and knowledge of Deaf culture and must attain the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as members of a team.
- People must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be considered as an asset for this post.
Work setting
- People must have dedicated experience in interpreting in both small and large group settings to be eligible for this post.
