Job Description

The candidate will be required to report to the Maintenance Supervisor and perform repairs as well as preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment to ensure proper operation and avoid unplanned shutdowns.
In the event of equipment failure or breakage, the candidate will be required to carry out immediate repairs.
The candidate will be expected to carry out the preventive and corrective maintenance orders on the company’s various equipment in accordance with the established preventive maintenance schedule.
The candidate will be required to complete the necessary forms and documents related to the work performed.
The candidate will be expected to manage and keep the inventory for the equipment under his supervision up to date.
The candidate will be expected to perform mechanical work in the plant as needed (equipment, services, or building) based on the workload of his department.
The candidate will be expected to ensure that his actions in his function support the manufacture of products that meet the company’s quality and food safety criteria.
The candidate will be expected to ensure compliance with the SQF food safety code requirements and to report any food safety issues to personnel authorised to intervene.
The candidate will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
The candidate must install, maintain, and service equipment.
The candidate will be required to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine how to assemble parts, machines, and other equipment.
The candidate will be required to install electronic components using soldering equipment and hand tools.
The candidate will be required to analyse and record test results, as well as prepare written documentation.
The candidate will be required to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes in order to evaluate quality or performance.
The candidate will be expected to assist with the installation, analysis, and acceptance of new electromechanical equipment.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the tool meets all electro and mechanical safety requirements.
The candidate will be expected to attend safety and training meetings, as well as emergency preparedness systems.
The candidate will be expected to identify and evaluate failures using detailed drawings, standard electronics equipment, manuals, diagrams, specifications, and instructions.
The candidate will be expected to maintain an adequate supply of necessary supplies and parts.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the correct and timely completion of all protective maintenance duties.
When performing work, the candidate will be expected to follow all company safety rules and regulations.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in English or French languages.
The candidate should have minimum qualification of DEP or DEC in industrial or electromechanical mechanics or maintenance
The ideal candidate should have a minimum 2 years of working experience in similar industry.
The candidate must have a C licence; otherwise, a C licence would be an asset.
The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Windows Excel, Office and Outlook.
The candidate should have prior experience in the food industry, particularly with processes and production lines.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude as well as the ability to comprehend complex diagrams and schematics.
The candidate should be experienced in moving heavy equipment.
The candidate should be able to do plumbing work (for example: making threads on a pipe etc.)
The candidate must be able to diagnose and understand equipment using pneumatics, hydraulics, and hydrodynamics.
To perform sanitary welds, the candidate should have knowledge and skills in TIG welding.
The candidate should be able to organise efficiently and work in a well-structured manner.
