Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for installing electrical controls and panel boxes.
  • The candidate will be responsible for replacing, and repairing electrical controls and panel boxes.
  • The candidate must maintain professionalism in customer service.
  • The candidate must install underground wiring and cables.
  • The candidate must design and build single-phase services for single or multimeter installations.
  • The candidate must splice, join, and connect wires.
  • The candidate must design and build low voltage (30 to 750V) multiphase services for single or multimeter installations.
  • The candidate must test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults, and circuit integrity.
  • The candidate will be expected to select appropriate materials and methods for hazardous locations.
  • The candidate must troubleshoot and isolate faults.
  • The candidate must connect power to audio and visual equipment.
  • The candidate must install surface mount and/or overhead cables.
  • The candidate will be responsible for installing power generation, stand-by power generation, and power conditioning systems.
  • The candidate must ground and bond electrical equipment, systems, and structures such as swimming pools and hot tubs.
  • The candidate must renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial buildings.
  • The candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
  • The candidate must be familiar with the commission systems and components.
  • The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting problems related to equipment.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have an Other trades certificate or diploma, or have prior experience as an Electrician.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must have Electrician Trade Certification, Working at heights training certification, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) clearance Certificate, Confined Space Entry Training Certification, and Construction Electrician Red Seal Certificate.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.

  • Types of systems include plumbing, cold water, and drain lines.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience operating generators, conventional electrical devices, high voltage equipment, motors and controls, solid state devices, hand tools, and HVAC systems.

Area of work experience

  • The candidate must have work experience in quality assurance or control.

Inspection or testing specialization

  • The candidate must be specialized in the inspection or testing of electrical assemblies, equipment, and wiring.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about the emergency power system, lighting system, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, and electrical system.
