Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for installing electrical controls and panel boxes.
  • The candidate will be responsible for replacing and repairing electrical controls and panel boxes.
  • The candidate must maintain professionalism in customer service.
  • The candidate must install underground wiring and cables.
  • The candidate must keep maintenance reports and documentation.
  • The candidate must splice, join, and connect wires.
  • The candidate must test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults, and circuit integrity.
  • The candidate must troubleshoot and isolate faults.
  • The candidate must install surface mount and/or overhead cables.
  • The candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a Registered Apprenticeship Certificate.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have Electrician Trade Certification, Working at heights training certification, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, and Fall Arrest Protection Training Course Certification.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work at heights.
  • The candidate must be able to work in cold/refrigerated, dusty and hot conditions.

Apprenticeship training

  • The candidate must have Level two apprenticeship training, Level three apprenticeship training, and Level fourย apprenticeship training certification.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience using generators, conventional electrical devices, and hand tools.

Additional information

Security and safety

  • The candidate’s driving record should be thoroughly checked (abstract).

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have their own transportation.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel.
  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

Own tools/equipment

  • The candidate must have their own tools.
