Job description
- The candidate will be required to develop behavioural guidelines.
- The candidate would be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
- The candidate will be expected to lead activities such as telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local attractions.
- The candidate would be responsible for providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity.
- The candidate will be required to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
- The candidate will be required to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor.
- The candidate will be required to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children.
- The candidate will be expected to assess children’s abilities, interests, and needs and to discuss progress and problems with parents and other staff members.
- The candidate will be required to establish collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
- The candidate would be responsible for imparting knowledge to children through fun and play.
- The candidate would be responsible for participating research programs concerned with improvements in early childhood teaching methods, as appropriate.
- The candidate will be expected to plan and prepare classroom settings, supervise safety and educational programmes, supervise children in the classroom, and provide a supportive environment in which children can learn and practise appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviours.
- The candidate will be expected to communicate openly and cooperatively with parents and families, encouraging their participation in the programme and supporting the child’s family relationships.
- The candidate will be required to provide positive guidelines such as re-directing, positive language and reinforcement.
- The candidate will be responsible for supervising and maintaining daycare equipment.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate should have minimum qualification of College or CEGEP.
- Candidate having experience is an asset.
- The candidate must have a certificate in early childhood education (ECE), emergency child care first aid, and CPR.
- The candidate would be in charge of children aged five years, one year, two years, three years, four years, and infants (3 months – 11 months).
- The candidate should have experience with Special Needs Children.
- The candidate should have experience with Children with an intellectual disability.
- The candidate should have experience with Children with behavioral issues.
- The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- The candidate should be a good team player with enough interpersonal and judge-mental skills.
- The candidate should give importance to values and ethics.
- The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
- The candidate should be punctual.
- The candidate should be reliable.
- The candidate should be dependable.
- The candidate should have excellent customer service skills.
