Job Description
- The candidate will be expected to apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
- The candidate must apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster.
- The candidate will be responsible for cleaning and preparing surfaces.
- The candidate must cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
- The candidate must use a trowel and broad knife to fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound.
- The candidate must finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat if needed.
- The candidate must be able to measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets.
- The candidate must smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry.
- The candidate must attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furrings.
- The candidate must cut openings in the lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets.
- The candidate must prepare layouts for the walls and ceiling.
- The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
- The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
