Job Description
- The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks in order to transport goods and materials.
- The candidate must inspect the vehicle’s condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, and other essential components.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English or French.
- There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must have an Air Brakes Endorsement Certification and a valid Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
- The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
- The candidate must be flexible.
- The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
- The candidate should be reliable.
- The candidate should be a good team player.
- The candidate must be hardworking.
Experience and specialization
Documentation knowledge
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about driver logbooks, inspection reports (including pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip reports), as well as maintenance and repair reports.
Type of trucking and equipment
- The candidate must have experience operating dry bulk equipment, tractor-trailers, and tractor-trailer B-trains.
Communication systems experience
- The candidate must be familiar with the Trip recorder (on-board computer).
Transportation/travel experience
- The candidate must have experience in transportation across international, local, regional, provincial, territorial, and national routes.
- The candidate must have experience with both long-haul and short-haul travel.
Additional information
Security and safety
- The candidate must have a valid passport.
- The candidate must undergo a criminal background check, a driver’s licence validity check, a driving record check (abstract), and a drug test.
Transportation/travel information
- The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
- The candidate must be willing to travel across borders.
- The candidate must be willing to travel overnight.
Work conditions and physical capabilities
- The candidate should have an eye for detail.
- The candidate should be willing to work overtime if necessary.
- The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
- The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in a sitting position.

- The candidate must have steel-toed safety boots.
