Job Description
- The candidate must maintain a professional demeanour in customer service.
- The candidate must load and unload goods.
- The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks in order to transport goods and materials.
- The candidate must inspect the vehicle’s condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, cold storage, and other equipment.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
- The candidate will be responsible for receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
- The candidate will be responsible for recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- The candidate must handle and transport dangerous goods.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the French language.
- The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade or possess equivalent experience in the field.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must hold a Class 1/1F/A Licence (for semi-trailer trucks) and a Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A).
- The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
- The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
- The candidate must be flexible.
- The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
- The candidate should be reliable.
- The candidate must be hardworking.
Work setting

Experience and specialization
Documentation knowledge
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about dangerous goods occurrence reports, driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip), maintenance and repair reports and trip reports.
Type of trucking and equipment
- The candidate must have experience operating a straight truck (over 4,600 kg or 10,000 lbs with three or more axles) and a tractor-trailer.
Transportation/travel experience
- The candidate must have experience with transportation and travel at international, local, national, provincial/territorial, and regional levels.
- The candidate must have experience with both long-haul and short-haul travel.

- The candidate should undergo a thorough criminal record check, a driver’s license validity check, and a driving record check (abstract).
Transportation/travel information
- The candidate must be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
- The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
