Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to operate/control multiple blades and salting mechanisms.
- They’re also appointed to perform ancillary road maintenance and labour services for the Parks Canada Agency.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a dedicated valid and current Class 3 Nova Scotia driver’s license to be eligible for this post.
- They must attain substantial and extensive experience in the operation of commercial and heavy equipment.
- Candidates must attain the ability to operate heavy equipment in a safe proficient manner.
- They must attain experience in the operation of road graders or the ability to be trained to an acceptable level of proficiency in grader operation by Parks Canada.
- Candidates must attain the ability to identify equipment malfunctions, carry out minor maintenance and repairs, determine the cause and effectively report them.
- Candidates must ensure the willingness to work shift work and weekends, and statutory holidays and provincial holidays when required.
- They must attain a valid and current Class 3 Nova Scotia driver’s license,
Work setting
- Candidates must attain the ability to work and travel in varied terrain, and adverse weather conditions.
