Job Description

  • The candidate must operate buses, school buses, or streetcars to transport passengers.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing passengers with information about fares, schedules, and stops.
  • The candidate will be responsible for collecting fares and recording transactions.
  • The candidate must report delays, mechanical problems, and accidents.
  • The candidate will be responsible for directing passengers during emergency evacuation procedures.
  • The candidate must complete logbooks and reports.
  • Using two-way radio systems, the candidate must communicate with passengers, dispatchers, and other drivers.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and overseeing all vehicle aspects.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have Air Brakes Endorsement Certification, a Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks), a Class 2/2F/C Licence (buses with more than passengers), a Class 4/4F/F/4A-B-C Licence (ambulances, emergency vehicles, and buses with fewer than 24 passengers), and an Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Certification.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate should be client-focused.
  • The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible.
  • The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
