They serve as the Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC) and are responsible for all aspects of compliance under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, Toronto Municipal Code and for the administration of the City of Toronto Emergency Plan.

Job description
- Candidates will provide leadership and direction in hazard and risk identification assessments and the development of comprehensive emergency plans in response to the identified risks, business continuity planning and coordination.
- They also have to provide leadership in emergency social service issue and activity coordination and the operation of the City’s emergency operations centre (EOC).
- They will provide the necessary vision and leadership to the Toronto public service in order to achieve exceptional emergency preparedness, in co-operation with internal and external stakeholders, emergency services, public and private sector partners and service providers, and other levels of government.
Job requirement
- Candidates must be experienced and capable leaders who bring extensive senior level experience in all aspects of emergency and risk mitigation planning, and highly developed skills in all aspects of EOC operations.
- They have extensive experience in the application and implementation of the Incident Management System with demonstrated expertise in leading the various functions of an activated EOC.
