Job Description

  • The candidate must prepare patients for dental examinations.
  • The candidate must prepare plaster models and moulds.
  • The candidate must supervise dental assistants in their health-care functions.
  • The candidate must train other dental laboratory assistants.
  • The candidate must order dental and office supplies.
  • The candidate must perform administrative duties for the dental laboratory.
  • The candidate must prepare dental instruments and filling materials.
  • The candidate must maintain and order supplies.
  • The candidate must perform reception and clerical duties.
  • The candidate must sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment.
  • The candidate must educate patients about oral hygiene.
  • The candidate must complete the metal framework of dentures.
  • The candidate must polish teeth and clinical crowns, as well as apply fluoride and sealant.
  • The candidate will be responsible for packing plastic material into moulds to form full or partial dentures.
  • The candidate must perform intra-oral duties.
  • The candidate will be responsible for making orthodontic bands out of metal and alloys.
  • The candidate must document dental procedures performed on patients.
  • The candidate will be responsible for billing patients for dental services.
  • The candidate must polish and buff dentures.
  • The candidate will be responsible for fabricating and placing temporary crowns and restorations.
  • The candidate must take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades, or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.

  • The candidate must work in a dental practice.

Experience and specialization

Technical expertise (dental)

  • The candidate must be skilled in plastering, packing, waxing-up, polishing, and assembly.

Computer and technology knowledge

  • The candidate must be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.

Equipment, systems and controls experience

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about medical and biomedical equipment and systems.
