Job Description

The candidate must prepare patients for dental examinations.
The candidate must order dental and office supplies.
The candidate must prepare dental instruments and filling materials.
The candidate must sterilise and maintain instruments and equipment.
The candidate will be responsible for billing patients for dental services.
The candidate must fabricate and place temporary crowns and restorations.
The candidate must prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays.
The candidate must prepare plaster models and moulds.
The candidate must polish and buff dentures.
The candidate must make orthodontic bands out of metal and alloys.
The candidate must maintain and order supplies.
The candidate must complete the metal framework of dentures.
The candidate must cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases.
The candidate must supervise students in training.
The candidate must design, fabricate, or repair dental devices.
The candidate must mould wax over denture set-up.
The candidate must pack plastic material into molds to form full or partial dentures.
The candidate must carry out administrative duties for the dental laboratory.
The candidate must train and supervise other dental technicians or dental laboratory assistants.

The candidate must be registered with provincial or territorial authorities and certified by the National Dental Assisting Examining Board.
