Delivery driver

The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory is located at Ottawa, ON. The company is currently looking for applications for the role of Delivery driver. We are in search of a self-disciplined individual with outstanding interpersonal skills. The selected applicant will be required to join and take their responsibilities at the earliest. The open positions are for Term or contract or Part time job. The timings of shifts may be Day, Evening and On Call.

What will you do?

  • The candidate must operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products.
  • The candidate must maintain professionalism in customer service.
  • The candidate must use maps and other trip planning tools.
  • The candidate must record all trip-related information, including mileage, fuel expenses, and any issues.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.

Who can apply?

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a Driver’s License (Class 3 or D).
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Where you will work?

  • The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.

  • The candidate must have travel experience in the local area.
