Job Description
- Candidates interested in this post are required to spend most of the day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on route working at this post.
- Applicants are also accountable for handling the operation of material handling equipment.
- Candidates are also accountable for receiving and accepting mail items and sorting, scanning, sequencing and batching mail items working at this post.
- Applicants working at this post are required to transfer and dispatch parcels and packets.
- People are required to perform other postal clerk duties as required and complete reports and documentation working at this post.
- They’re also accountable for returning to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s license with a safe driving record for at least 3 years to be eligible for this post.
- They must have the physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg regularly throughout the day to get preferred for this post.
- Applicants must have experience in customer service and must attain experience making deliveries or working as a driver.
- Candidates must have prior experience working in a production environment along with the ability to work in all types of weather to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates must attain the availability to be on-call, possibly evenings and weekends.
- They must attain the ability to read, write and speak English and French to be eligible for this post.
