Job Description
- People who apply for this post are required to tune databases for optimal performance and implement database load-balancing technologies.
- Candidates are also accountable for providing maintenance on databases for optimal performance, like rebuilding databases/indexes working at this post.
- Applicants who applied for this post are accountable for supporting the development and implementation of projects – performing installations, database loading, data conversions, promoting application changes to various environments, testing, etc.
- Candidates are required to troubleshoot and resolve database problems promptly while working at this post.
- Candidates are appointed to review, recommend, plan and implement database patches to mitigate issues and to ensure the databases are maintained in supported versions.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have a post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of database administration using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and Cloud-related databases to be eligible for this post.
- They must attain database-related certifications related to Oracle, SQL Server, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, etc, to be considered as an asset for this post.
- Applicants must attains detailed knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server database and application server concepts and design.
- Candidates must have an overall knowledge of the City’s technical infrastructure to be considered as an asset for this post.
- They must have excellent technical, project management, analytical and communication skills to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates must attain In-depth knowledge of relational objects such as tables, stored procedures, triggers and DTS/SSIS packages to be eligible for this post.
