Job Description
- The candidate must clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas.
- The candidate must be able to handle animals.
- The candidate will be responsible for monitoring the calving process.
- The candidate must monitor animal health.
- The candidate must perform livestock feeding.
- The candidate must prepare a clean, dry area for cows that are in the process of calving.
- The candidate will be responsible for fertilizing and spraying crops.
- The candidate must harvest crops.
- The candidate will be responsible for feeding and caring for the animals.
- The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
- The candidate will be responsible for implementing a pasture or pen breeding program.
- The candidate must milk cows.
- The candidate must clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens.
- The candidate must maintain work records and logs.
- The candidate must perform general farm duties.
- The candidate will be responsible for installing and monitoring water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.

- Farm operations include livestock combination farming, dairy farming, and grain, oil and forage crop production.

- The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration despite these conditions.
- The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.

- The candidate should be willing to work in a rural area, where most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
- The candidate should work in a staff accommodation that offers live-in facilities, provided by the employer, which provides housing to its employees.
- The candidate should be able to work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
Experience and specialization
Equipment and machinery experience
- The candidate has experience operating a wide range of farm equipment and machinery, including automated manure handling or storage systems, bulk handling systems, feeding and watering systems, harvesters, automated milking systems, storage and silage systems, tractors, combine harvesters, farm trucks, forage equipment, loaders, manure spreaders, swathers, skidsteers, forklifts, and hand tools.
Automated systems experience
- The candidate must have experience with automated systems, including bulk grain or feed handling, manure handling and storage.

- The candidate must be specialized in the area of dairy cattle.
