They will defend and keep safe the Trial Court’s buildings, grounds, employees, and guests. They will maintain a visible security presence inside the building and at court entrances and security screening stations. Job description
- Candidates must have the ability to pass a security and background check conducted by OPP.
- They should have the capacity to become and stay a Special Constable.
- They must have the capacity to pass the Use of Force certification exam and keep it current.
Job requirement
- Candidates should have an understanding of the laws pertaining to court administration, documentation, and proceedings is necessary to plan courtroom detachment activities.
- They need to guarantee that all necessary court paperwork is properly prepared and completed.
- They should acquire knowledge of pertinent sections of statutes, such as those pertaining to provincial offences, municipal bylaws, the Young Offenders Act, the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Work setting
- They should be familiar with application software for registering sexual offenders and preparing, updating, and maintaining court-related records.
- They should have social skills for interacting with prisoners to get their cooperation when escorting them to and from cells and court appearances.
- They should have the ability to manage case files, plan, and keep track of all agreements and paperwork related to court-processed detachment case files.
