The King’s Head Inn Ltd. based in Vancouver, BC, is looking for candidates for the position of Cook with 5 vacancies. The ones chosen to be employed will be required to start work as soon as possible. The job is LMIA approved. The vacancies refer to that of permanent employment and a full time job. The shift will extend from morning to day to evening and the candidate maybe required to be present on the weekend as well.

Job description

  • The candidate will be required to prepare individual dishes and foods.
  • The candidate will be required to plan menus.
  • The candidate will be required to determine size of food portions.
  • The candidate will be required to estimate food requirements.
  • The candidate will be required to manage and estimate costs.
  • The candidate will be required to monitor supplies.
  • The candidate will be required to order supplies.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • The candidate will be required to train staff in preparation and cooking of food.
  • The candidate will be required to train staff in handling of food.
  • The candidate will be required to supervise kitchen staff.
  • The candidate will be required to take note of the helpers.
  • The candidate will be required to manage kitchen operations.
  • The candidate will be required to inspect kitchens.
  • The candidate will be required to look after food service areas.
  • The candidate will be required to clean kitchen and work areas.
  • The candidate will be required to maintain inventory and records of food and supplies.
  • The candidate will be required to maintain inventory and records of equipment.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare and cook complete meals.
  • The Work Setting is a Restaurant.
  • The working environment will be in an Urban area.

Requirements

  • The candidate should have a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • The candidate should have an experience of at least 1 year to less than 2 years.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The work will be physically demanding and hence the candidate should be comfortable with it.
  • The candidate should pay attention to detail.
  • The candidate should be organized.
  • The candidate should have clarity of judgement.
  • The candidate should be accurate.
