Job description
- The candidate will be required to train staff in the preparation and cooking of food.
- The candidate will be required to train staff in handling food.
- The candidate will be required to supervise kitchen staff.
- The candidate should take their own transportation; own a vehicle and valid driver’s licence.
- The candidate will be required to manage the kitchen operations.
- The candidate will be required to inspect kitchens.
- The candidate will be required to look after food service areas.
- The candidate will be required to clean the kitchen and work areas.
- The candidate will be required to maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
- The candidate will be required to prepare and cook complete meals.
- The candidate will be required to prepare individual dishes and foods.
- The candidate will be required to determine the size of food portions.
- The candidate will be required to estimate food requirements.
- The candidate will be required to manage and estimate costs.
- The candidate will be required to train staff in preparation.
- The candidate will be required to know Vegetarian, International, Greek, Canadian, Gluten-free, Mediterranean cuisine.
- The candidate will be required to order supplies and prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
- The Work Setting is a Restaurant, Bar, Café, Between 45 and 60 kg (100-132 lbs)
Requirements
- The candidate has no need for any degree, certificate, diploma or equivalent experience.
- The candidate should have experience of at least 1 to less than 2 years.
- The candidate should have excellent oral communication skills.
- The work will involve a combination of sitting, standing and walking which the candidate should be comfortable with.
- The candidate should be able to manage tight deadlines and work under pressure.
- The candidate should be able to handle repetitive tasks.
- The candidate should be able to handle heavy loads.
- The work will be physically demanding and hence the candidate should be comfortable with it.
- The candidate should pay attention to detail.
- The candidate will be required to stand for extended periods and hence should be comfortable with it.
- The candidate should be organized and have clarity of judgement.
- The candidate should have a safe food handling certificate and food safety certificate
- The candidate should carry his criminal record check for security and safety.
