Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to assist with the development and coordination of contracts, including tenders, quotations, requests for proposals, and requests for information.
- They’re also appointed to assist with the administration of various tenders, quotes, requests for proposals and agreements including preparing purchase requisitions.
- Candidates for this post are appointed to prepare, review and expedite tenders, quotations, requests for proposal, and pre-bid forms.
- They’re also appointed to assist with the preparation of specifications ensuring conformity to City, Provincial and Federal government standards and specifications.
- Candidates are responsible for the oversight of contract timing, ensuring operating departments stay on target with their annual procurement contract schedule through regular facilitated meetings.
- They’re also appointed to coordinate requests and responses between Procurement Services and Public Works departments.
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to provide advice to departmental contract leads on the purchasing by-laws, processes, and policies.
Job requirement
- They must attain successful completion of a two (2) year College Diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration or Municipal Leadership to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain a minimum of 3 years’ experience in business administration leading complex projects, preferably in a municipal environment.
- Candidates must attain working knowledge of the City of Vaughan’s Purchasing By-law.
- They must attain excellent interpersonal, analytical, and administrative skills including the ability to multitask, coupled with effective organizational and problem-solving skills.
- They must attain the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- They must attain a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with staff and contractors and express ideas verbally and in written format.
